March 2006
Meeting at NAIS in Boston to explore the possibility of a new association.

Spring 2007
Incorporated in Massachusetts with 13 founding schools; first executive director named. Founding schools number 42 by end of year.

First Board of Trustees is elected.

June 2008
Kenyon College hosts the first Summer Institute.

January 2009
Leadership convenes at Southern Methodist University for first strategic planning meeting.

June 2009
Colorado College hosts the second Summer Institute; Board appoints its first chair.

September 2010
Second executive director named.

January 2011
Board of Trustees forms finance committee to focus on investment strategy.

Spring 2013
Third executive director named.

January 2016
ACCIS membership reaches 478 schools and includes 1,360 counselors.

March 2016
ACCIS’s first full-time, paid executive director search begins by the Board of Trustees. Member schools number 500.

May 2016
ACCIS names first full-time executive director to begin January 2017.
